3 Steps to Custom Foot Orthotics

Step 1 - Scanning

The process begins with a scan of the foot in 2D and 3D using the SoleScanner Laser.

The SoleScanner Laser gives you the versatility of being able to scan the foot directly or to scan a foot print in a foam box, vacuum bag or plaster cast. The resulting 3D scan is sent to the PodoCAD 3D foot orthotic design software.

Step 2 - Software

The PodoCAD 3D software is used to design your patient’s custom foot orthotics by determining the axes, corrections (including pronation and supination of the fore foot and the rear foot), the thicknesses and the materials of the orthotics you wish to have made. When the design process is complete, the file is put on our FTP service for our production unit to access.

Step 3 - Milling

All orders are produced and shipped within 2 working days. Our foot orthotics are milled in EVA 30, 45 and 60 Shore A. Milling is done on a 3 axes milling machine or a five axis robotic arm.

The milled foot orthotic is an exact reproduction of your design and is delivered unfinished and without a top cover.

Shipping your insoles

Your foot orthotics are delivered by UPS using a standard 48h service for shipments to other European counties. When your shipment is ready to leave our workshop, you receive an email with the delivery note (content of the shipment) and a tracking number.
